Hanmaru Tonfa (Semicircular) - Red Oak

丁寧な作りと仕上げに大変満足してます。

I received my Hanmaru Tonfa today and am really thrilled with the quality and workmanship. It is really great to practice with a genuine kubodo weapon hand made in Japan. These tonfa are well worth the price and something I am truly proud to own. Thank you to Seido's talented craftsman and despite current hardships, I hope they will continue to produce these wonderful products for many years to come.

やや重さのあるこちらのモデルを注文しましたが、扱いやすくサイズ感も丁度でした。
全体の仕上がりも綺麗で手触りも滑らかで、持ち手部分の接合部もしっかりしています。
手入れしつつ愛用して行きたいです。

始めて株式会社星道さんにトンファーを注文しましたが、対応が早く注文した次の日に届いたので非常に満足してます。梱包もしっかりしていて安心感がありました。
ニス無し半丸型トンファーを購入しましたが、全体的な油磨きの仕上がりが非常に綺麗でした。

握りの長さ、直径、親指と人差し指が接触する頭部の顎の局面仕上がりが非常に手にしっくりくるので、トンファーを振るときに手首の返しがやりやすく、油磨き仕上げが手の平のすべりの潤滑剤的役割をするので、手の平に汗を掻いた時にニス仕上げで有り勝ちな引っ掛かりがありませんでした。本体の長さ、幅、半丸のＲ仕上げ、重量も満足してます。
型での扱いもやりやすく、棒や木刀での対人稽古も油磨きの扱いやすさが効果的でした。

しかし、安全性の面で不満があります。本体の握りが付いている面の両角（かまぼこ型の底面になる面の角）の面取りがＲ１位の糸面取りになっていますが、この部分は腕に接触することがあるのでＲ５位の面取りにすべきです。また、本体の握り側の端面の角も皮膚に当たると痛いのでＲ３位の曲面にすべきです。使う人の技術レベルの違いにもよりますが、初心者レベルの方が初めて手にするには改善の余地があるのではないでしょうか。
私も含め仲間たちは木工製品は自分に合うように調整するのが当たり前ですが、上記の改善点を考慮いただければ幸いです。
お値段も手ごろで満足してます。

Well made, beautifully crafted. The best tradional tonfa available. Great service from true artists.

Oak used to make this tonfa is quite good and delicately crafted. How the handle anchored to the body follows the traditional eastern way. It was not uncommon decades ago but seldom nowadays. Most martial art stuff suppliers provide plastic tonfa only! I gave four star because the price is too high.

I purchased a set of the large oil finished Tonfa as a trial to compare with Shureido and I could not be happier. They are top quality and very well crafted. The weight is a bit heavier than the Shureido Large Sized Tonfa and is heavy toward the tail end. The wood, fit and finish craftsmanship is equal to if not superior than my set of Shureido Tonfa. I discovered and tried the Seido Shop due to there being virtually zero availability of Shureido wooden Kobudo weapons lately and can honestly say Seido Shop is a very good manufacturer of authentic and professional level Kobudo Weapons. I would hope that Tekko may at some point become available through the Seido Shop as well. The customer service is superior to most every other supplier of Budo Goods I have tried. Do not hesitate on ordering as quality is what you will receive. These are by no means cheap in price, but are also by no means "cheaply" crafted so you can buy nice or buy twice. This set will surely last a lifetime, and only become more cherished via wear in and patina. Thank you Seido Shop for delivering on your claims the first time error free!
